I'm very interested in continuing to be an educator in some capacity. I decided that I wanted to expand sort of my world view, and comparative literature offered me that flexibility of combining a variety of different tracks that you can pursue.
Campus life for a grad student is a lot different from campus life for an undergrad. I feel like we're all so much closer. My cohort is only about 40 people. So we usually try to hang out with each other on the weekends.
I almost feel like I'm a role model for some undergrads, as well. And telling them about my program, they get just excited as I am about my program and say, oh, that's amazing. I want to do that too.
The experience that I've had at the University of Arkansas as an international student has changed my life. I think that this environment fosters that in its students, just because you get so much support from faculty and from staff. And grad school isn't just doing research and going to class. Grad school is also just about growing as a person.

La vida en el campus para un estudiante de posgrado es muy distinta de la vida en el campus para un estudiante de pregrado. Siento que todos estamos mucho más cerca. Mi grupo es de solo unas 40 personas. Así que por lo general tratamos de pasar el rato juntos los fines de semana.
Casi siento como que también soy un modelo a seguir para algunos estudiantes de pregrado. Y al contarles acerca de mi programa, se emocionan tanto como yo lo estoy con mi programa y dicen: "¡Oh, eso es increíble!". "Yo también quiero hacer eso". La experiencia que he tenido en la Universidad de Arkansas como estudiante internacional ha cambiado mi vida. Creo que este ambiente fomenta eso en sus estudiantes, simplemente porque recibes mucho apoyo de la facultad y del personal. Y la escuela de posgrado no es solo hacer investigación e ir a clases. La escuela de posgrado también se trata simplemente de crecer como persona.
